Thanks for the warning. I stopped in at the dealer's yesterday to pick up a filter and three quarts of oil. I guess I'll put in two, ride it around the block, and bring it up to full, assuming I can see that damn sight glass.
For those of you who are so inclined, the dealership had one of the new Kawasaki W650s. A modern clone of an old Triumph Bonneville, but with an overhead cam and modern Mikuni carbs. It even has a kick starter! Way cool. Oh yes, and it also has a crappy 70's style seat and chain drive. OK, so I'll stick with my Savage.
